Mets GM Sandy Alderson said on Friday that he cannot foresee OF prospect Tim Tebow getting a September call-up.
Tebow hit a solo walk-off home run for Single-A St. Lucie on Thursday night in the team's 1-0 win over Daytona.
The home run came in the seventh and final inning in the second game of a doubleheader. With the home run, Tebow extended his hitting streak to 11 games.
The 29-year-old outfielder is hitting is hitting .327 with three home runs and 10 RBI in 15 games for St. Lucie. In 64 games for Low-A Columbia, Tebow hit .220 with three home runs, 14 doubles, and 23 RBI.
Tebow signed a minor league contract with the Mets last season and first played in the Arizona Fall League. He joined Columbia at the beginning of the 2017 season before he was promoted to St. Lucie.
