Mets LHP Jerry Blevins was claimed and blocked on waivers, according to FanRag Sports' Jon Heyman,
Blevins, who reportedly drew some interest prior to the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline, has a 2.78 ERA with 50 strikeouts in 35 2/3 inningsd across 53 relief appearances this season.
Blevins, who is earning $6.5 million this season, has a $7 million team option for 2018, and would join Jeurys Familia and AJ Ramos in the back end of the bullpen next year.
Prior to the July 31 deadline, the Mets acquired Ramos and dealt Addison Reed and Lucas Duda in three separate deals. Earlier this week, the Mets traded Jay Bruce after he cleared waivers.
