Earlier this season, Citi launched the Citi ThankYou Home Runs for Communities Program, committing $2,000 to a local community partner each time a Mets player hits a home run at Citi Field.
The partners benefiting from this program:
- City Harvest
- United Neighborhood Houses (UNH)
- USO of Metropolitan New York
- YMCA of Greater New York.
Entering the Phillies series, the total stands at $100,000, thanks to 40 long balls by the home team at Citi Field and an initial commitment of $5,000 to each partner at the start of the season.
"I am pleased to join Citi in supporting these important organizations that improve the lives of New Yorkers, and I am delighted to partner with Citi to add even more excitement to the on-field action at Citi Field," said Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson, who serves as the ambassador for this program and has hit six home runs this season at Citi Field.
