McHugh is 0-1 with a 4.03 ERA in four appearances and three starts for the Mets this season. He's allowed 15 hits, three walks, and four home runs in 15 innings this season.
Earlier this week, Collins said McHugh will get one more start before the season is over.
Posted Sept. 17: Last Monday on the Post Game show, Bobby Ojeda broke down McHugh’s delivery, and it was clear McHugh’s arm angle was different on his fastball than it is for his curveball. He had the same issue during his relief appearance last Saturday as well. I do think he has a real good curve and, if he can develop some consistency with his delivery and refine his other secondary pitches, he can undoubtedly be an effective Major League pitcher in the future. However, nobody, especially pitchers like McHugh who don’t throw hard, can telegraph their pitches and survive at the big league level.
