Colon allowed three homers and was charged with seven runs in 3 2/3 innings as his ERA rose to 4.90 in a no-decision against Colorado.
Despite going back out to pitch after being hit, Colon said it did affect his pitching.
"It did affect me a little bit, but it's not an excuse. It's got nothing to do with my performance. I'm glad the team picked me up and they came back and we got a key victory."
The righty is scheduled to pitch on Wednesday against Philadelphia and is hopeful that the injury won't cause him to miss a start.
"I hope the lord protects me and I won't have to skip a start based on this," he said.
