Now Commenting On:

Curtis Granderson left Monday's game with bruises to his left forearm, rib cage and knee after he crashed into the outfield wall in the first inning.

X-rays were negative, although multiple beat reporters said on Twitter  that Granderson appeared in lots of pain after the game, struggling to dress and walk.

"I hit the wall with my forearm, which then lodged my elbow into my chest area," he said. "I hit the pole that had a little bit of padding on it. Luckily, there was a little bit or else it could have been worse. But the worst part I could have hit, I ended up hitting."

I'll assume Juan Lagares ends up on the disabled list. In either case, I bet we see Eric Young Jr., Andrew Brown and Kirk Nieuwenhuis or Lucas Duda in the starting outfield tonight. What outfield? That outfield. Man, when it rains it pours, right? Yikes... Granderson will be OK, but it reads like it will take him a few days. The team is off Thursday. So, days off Tuesday and Wednesday, and with Kirk on the roster, it will get them to Friday, when Chris Young joins the team. Hopefully, by Saturday, Chris Young and Granderson can be in the starting lineup again.
