He hit a career-high 13 home runs last season, along with 38 doubles and 74 RBI, while hitting .283 with a .319 OBP. His 3.0 WAR was third among National League second basemen.
"I think I walked like 30 times this past year, if I can I can do one more a week that gives me another 20," Murphy explained. "That will help me swing at better pitches. And, if I can swing at better pitches that I can be dangerous on, I hope not only will the power numbers go up, but my walk rate will go up too."
