Now Commenting On:

Terry Collins double-switched David Wright out of the game during the eighth inning of Thursday night's loss to the Cubs.

Jenrry Mejia entered to pitch in the bottom of the inning and Eric Campbell moved to third base.

“I don’t know,” Wright said, when asked about the switch. “I’m not the manager."

Wright appeared irritated with the decision. However, he took some responsibility and said that if he hadn't made the last out of the previous inning, he may have been left in the game.

“I only had one guy left on the bench,” Collins explained. “I wanted to try to keep Duda in the game. So I just told David, ‘Look, I’ve got to put the pitcher in your spot.’ He understands. He’s a pro."
