Jacob deGrom will return from the disabled list and pitch for the Mets on Sunday against the Phillies and Noah Syndergaard will get the start on Tuesday against the Blue Jays.
DeGrom will be making his first start since May 2 when he hyperextended his elbow in a game against the Atlanta Braves. DeGrom threw a bullpen session on Friday and pitched a simulated game on Tuesday.
Syndergaard, who was set to pitch on Saturday night before the game was rained out, will be pushed back to Tuesday because he already was warmed up Saturday night, reports Mike Puma of the New York Post.
RHP Zack Wheeler will start on Wednesday in the second game of the series against the Blue Jays at Citi Field.
Wheeler was originally slated to start on Tuesday, followed by Matz on Wednesday.
