Now Commenting On:

Josh Edgin and Daisuke Matsuzaka both received cortisone shots in their respective elbows, the Mets said.

They are both expected to rejoin the team in Cincinnati, where the Mets open a series on Friday night, but they might not be able to pitch with them by then.

Edgin and Dice-K both visited doctors in New York regarding elbow pain and inflammation.

Edgin was diagnosed with bone spurs and Terry Collins said the team was "uncertain" about if he'll be able to pitch again this season (Vorkunov, Sept. 1).
