The trade sending Edwin Diaz and Robinson Cano from the Mariners to the Mets for Jarred Kelenic, Justin Dunn, Jay Bruce, Anthony Swarzak, and Gerson Bautista has been agreed to, pending physicals, reports SNY's Andy Martino.

Aside from taking on the contracts of Bruce and Swarzak, the Mariners will send the Mets $20 million as part of the deal, reports Jon Heyman of FanCred

SNY first reported that the Mets were aggressively pursuing the Mariners' stars.

Cano has five years and $120 million remaining on his contract. Bruce will earn $26 million over the final two years of his contract, while Swarzak is owed $8 million in 2019 in the final year of his contract.

Seattle had been looking to unload the 36-year-old Cano, who served a suspension for testing positive for a banned substance last season and hit .303/.374/.471 with 10 home runs and 50 RBI in 80 games.

The 24-year-old Diaz, who is under team control for four more seasons and not arbitration-eligible until the 2020 season, gives the Mets arguably the best closer in baseball. He led the league with 57 saves last season and had a 1.94 ERA and 0.79 WHIP with 124 strikeouts in 73.1 innings. In three big league seasons, Diaz has 109 saves, a 2.64 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and 301 strikeouts in 191 innings.
