Mets RH reliever Jeurys Familia was "caught off guard" Tuesday morning when asked about his agents -- Seth and Sam Levinson of ACES -- being named by former associate Juan Carlos Nunez in an alleged PED scandal.
"I just know of him because I have been with that company for almost 10 years now," Familia told Kristie Ackert of the NY Daily News about Nunez. "But no, I don't get anything from him. I don't know anyone who did. I don't know anything about it. I can't say anyting."
Aside from Familia, David Wright, Juan Lagares, and Kevin Plawecki are also represented by ACES, notes Ackert.
In the complaint, which was filed on Monday, Nunez -- who was employed by ACES -- claimed that his former bosses encouraged him to make under-the-table payments to players and their families, while also helping the players get steroids.
Nunez' lawsuit states that he was told to do "whatever it took" to procure clients, "ultimately engaging in an elaborate coverup to hide the misconduct from MLB and its Players' Union."
