Now Commenting On:

The Mets defeated the Astros, 6-2, in Port St. Lucie tonight.

[sny-box color="fff"]The Least You Should Know...

Justin Turner left tonight's game with a strained left calf. Zach Lutz replaced him at third base.

Jon Niese pitched 4.1 shut-out innings, while striking out seven out of 17 batters.

Marlon Byrd hit a solo home run, as well as a two-run double.[/sny-box]

I'm getting very intrigued by Byrd and what he might bring to the table in the regular season. Again, simply getting on base 33% of the time, stealing some bases and maybe driving in 70 runs or so will end up being a big decent addition... as crazy as that sounds.

The next time we see these Mets in a game on TV it will be Opening Day...

By the way, I know I'm a broken record on this, but I really dig how the white jerseys look without names on the back, which you see on low-level rookies in these games. It's not important. It doesn't matter. I just like it best. Carry on...

The Mets travel to Viera tomorrow to play the Nationals at 1 pm.
