The Mets beat the Nationals, 7-5, on Thursday afternoon.

[sny-box]Daisuke Matsuzaka made the start for the Mets, allowing one earned run over 3 2/3 innings. He allowed three hits, walked none and struck out four.

Rafael Montero came out of the bullpen and pitched just 1/3 of an inning.

Noah Syndergaard allowed three earned runs in his 3 2/3 innings. Two runs were charged to him when Jacob deGrom allowed a home run relieving Syndergaard. "Thor" struck out five and walked two.

Kirk Nieuwenhuis drive in three, including a two-run, two-out single in the top of the ninth.

Josh Satin drove in two.

Anthony Seratelli went 2-2, with an RBI and two runs scored.[/sny-box]
