Terry Collins said yesterday that he expects Francisco to throw two innings in a single outing before attempting to work on consecutive days, at which point the team will consider activating him from the disabled list.
"Until he can go back to back without difficulty, that's when we can talk," Collins said.
Francisco had surgery to remove bone chips from his elbow in December. He was been shut down early in Spring Training after experiencing discomfort in his elbow.
I'll take what this team can get. I'm not FF's biggest fan, but he can pitch, has a track record of limited success and any addition is a good addition at this point. The same can be said for Pedro Feliciano, who is close to being ready as well. His velocity is pretty much where the team expects it to be, now it's just a matter of -- similar to Francisco -- getting him able to pitch back-to-back days.
