Flexen still struggles with giving up the free pass to first as he has accumulated 24 walks over seven starts this season for a 3.43 walks per game ratio.
Who is starting today for the Astros?
RHP Mike Fiers (8-9, 4.55 ERA), who took the loss in his last start against the Rangers. He allowed eight runs on eight hits while striking out three and walking three in four innings of work.
After having a solid June and July, Fiers struggled in August posting a 7.44 ERA over 32 2/3 innings. HIs second half ERA currently sits at 5.86 compared to 3.84 in the first half.
The Mets are currently 3-6 on their 10-game road trip. They are 7-12 against the AL this season...Amed Rosario has four hoers in 107 at-bats in the big leagues compared to seven homers in 393 at-bats in Triple-A...Jerry Blevins has allowed only two runs in 13 2/3 innings since the All-Star break...Noah Syndergaard threw one inning yesterday in his first rehab start, where he allowed two unearned runs on two hits while striking out two.
