RHP Bartolo Colon (1-0, 1.50 ERA) makes his second start of the season. He won his opening day start against the Nationals throwing six strong innings allowing three hits and one run. Colon is 3-0 with a 0.43 ERA in three career starts at Turner Field.
LHP Alex Wood (1-0, 3.60 ERA) takes the mound for the Braves. In his season debut he pitched five innings while allowing three runs on four hits on his way to earning the win against the Marlins.
The Mets, who led the Grapefruit League in home runs, have hit two in five regular season games, during which they’re batting .196 as a team.
“It’s a different game when the lights come on,” manager Terry Collins said after Saturday’s loss to the Braves, against whom his team had just two hits, both by Lucas Duda. “Certainly we’ve got to get some guys going. We’ve got a good offensive club, and we’ve got some guys who can swing a bat. But, as we saw in spring training, it’s got to be throughout the lineup. One or two guys isn’t going to carry us.”
