Now Commenting On:

Need to Know: Bartolo Colon scattered six hits and five strikeouts over seven shutout innings. He did not give up more than one hit in any inning on the mound.

After Terry Collins won his second challenge of the season giving the Mets runners on first and second in the eighth, Ruben Tejada singled to right to give the Mets a 4-0 lead.

The Mets scored twice in the seventh as Tejada sent a line-drive single to center to bring in Travis d'Arnaud from second and Eric Young Jr., hit a single to right to score Tejada.

Tejada played a part in each Mets run during Tuesday's game as he scored twice and brought in two while going 2-for-3 with one walk and one strikeout.

Jose Valverde opened up the door for the Braves in the ninth when he gave up hits to the first two batters he faced. With one out, Valverde threw wide to second on an attempted double play, loading the bases. He then forced the next two batters to fly out to end the game.

Game Ball: We'll need two after this game. The first goes to Colon, who picked up his first win of the season. The second goes to Tejada as he was involved with every run that crossed the plate.
