Now Commenting On:

Result: The Mets' bats were quiet early, but exploded in a four-run seventh inning to even their series with the Giants in a 4-2 win.

Need to Know: Jacob deGrom was perfect through 4 2/3 innings and didn't allow a hit until there were two outs in the seventh, while Giants starter Jake Peavy didn't allow a baserunner over the first 6 1/3 innings. After Mike Morse misplayed a Daniel Murphy fly ball for the Mets' first hit of the game in the seventh, four of the next five batters reached base with the only out coming on a Travis d'Arnaud sacrifice fly. The Mets plated four in the inning before giving two back in the top of the eighth, but Jeurys Familia and Jenrry Mejia closed out the win.

Game Ball: deGrom, who won his fifth consecutive start and recorded an out in the eighth inning for the first time in his career.
