Now Commenting On:

The Mets initially indicated Dillon Gee would miss just two starts when he was put on the disabled list May 11 with a strained back muscle.

He's already missed three starts and will now travel to Port St. Lucie to start a new rehab program.

"We're going to go with the slow-and-steady approach this time," Gee said (ESPN, May 27).

Gee said he progressed too quickly and aggravated the muscle this past Sunday when trying to throw off a mound.

He told reporters he currently has no definitive timetable for his return.
