The Mets have made a move following their 6-2 win over the Brewers on Tuesday, sending left-handed reliever Scott Rice
down to Triple-A Las Vegas and activating righty reliever Gonzalez Germen
off the disabled list (Mets, June 10th
Germen was placed on the DL on May 5th. He's appeared in 13 games this season and has a 3.57 ERA.
The 32 year-old Rice, meanwhile, has a 5.93 ERA in 32 appearances to go along with a 1.32 WHIP. His most recent outing came on Sunday, June 8th in San Francisco, when he gave up a double to the Giants' Brandon Hicks in the eighth inning of a 6-4 Mets loss.
“I’m obviously not happy, but I understand their decision," Rice said (Newsday, June 10). "I wasn’t getting the job done so they had to make a move.”
