The Mets had a tough weekend against the Braves after crushing the Indians. And the oddsmakers took a look at that up and down performance against two of the league's best teams and kept the Mets' World Series odds right where they had been.
On Monday, Bovada updated their World Series odds, and the Mets remain at + 2000. They were at +2200 two weeks ago, and it was even higher the week of Aug. 6 -- at +2800.
Of note in the latest odds: the Nationals (who the Mets are chasing in the Wild Card race) saw their odds increase slightly, and are now in a tie with the Mets and Indians at +2000 for the eighth-best odds to win it all.
The Phillies, who are a half game ahead of the Mets, are at +4000, perhaps due in part to their negative run differential and their difficult September schedule.
