Now Commenting On:

Ike Davis is shocked he didn't end up being traded this winter, given the amount of rumors involving his name, he told reporters in St. Lucie on Friday.

"It seemed like we were pretty adamant about going somewhere, but obviously they had to make the right deal for them, and no one offered them what they thought enough, so I’m back," he said. "I wanted to be back, so I’m happy about it."

Davis and Terry Collins were scheduled to talk earlier this week, but Davis said he forgot and missed the meeting.

Wait, what? Oh, Ike, forever casual, right? Who knows what the situation is there, what his relationship is going to be like with Terry and Sandy Alderson? But, it shouldn't matter. In the end, it will be about how Davis hits and fields his position. It's in his hands now, meetings or no meetings. Hit, great. Don't hit, and I imagine he'll be either at Triple-A, a free agent or traded to another team...
