Mets RHP Noah Syndergaard has seen his name come up in trade rumors all offseason, recently tweeting at MLB Network that he doesn't believe them. On Saturday, Syndergaard updated his Twitter bio, adding a line that said "SNY is trying to trade me."
Early Sunday, Syndergaard took to Instagram, posting a picture of himself on the mound in his Mets uniform, using the caption 'My Team, Our Colors, New York's Future.'
While Mets GM Brodie Van Wagenen and COO Jeff Wilpon have said it would take a special package for the Mets to trade Syndergaard, his name has remained out there, with SNY's Andy Martino reporting during the Winter Meetings that the Mets had discussed a three-way deal that would have shipped Syndergaard to the Yankees.
On Thursday, Martino reported that Syndergaard had also been discussed as part of a three-team deal with the Padres and Marlins that would result in J.T. Realmuto coming to the Mets and Syndergaard heading to the Padres.
Syndergaard has now apparently put a flag in the ground regarding what he wants. And what he wants is something the majority of Mets fans also want -- Thor in Queens in 2019 and beyond.
