Jacob deGrom was named co-National League Player of the Week, along with Marlins reliever Steve Cishek.

DeGrom went 2-0 with a 0.68 ERA over the past week. In 13 1/3 innings -- two starts -- deGrom struck out 11, walked three and allowed just nine hits and one earned run.

DeGrom is 4-1 in July and has given up five runs in 32 1/3 innings in July with a 1.77 ERA. In his last four starts, he’s given up two runs in 27 1/3 innings.

“He’s been very good,” manager Terry Collins told reporters after the win. “We keep talking about it. I guess he has to go out each time and prove it. He’s been very good. He was very good today.”

DeGrom is the first Mets rookie pitcher to win a Player of the Week award since Octavio Dotel in 1999 (July 5). Outfielder Juan Lagares won a Player of the Week award as a rookie in 2013 (July 21).
