Now Commenting On:

Jacob deGrom will start on Thursday for the Mets, replacing Dillon Gee, who went on the disabled list on Wednesday. This will be deGrom's major league debut.

DeGrom was 4-0 with a 1.89 ERA in six starts in Triple-A Las Vegas. He was scheduled to start on Monday, but was skipped and later promoted to the big league club.

He was supposed to pitch out of the bullpen for the Mets, but was yet to appear in a game.

To make room for deGrom on the 40-man roster, the Mets transferred Bobby Parnell to the 60-day DL.

deGrom talks about making his first Major League start on Thursday vs. the Yankees.
