Mets INF Jeff McNeil left Thursday's game against the Nationals, as he felt abdominal tightness. Luckily, it doesn't appear to be anything to worry about.

McNeil told reporters after the game that it is a tightness he's felt in the past. He explained that it is due to scar tissue that built up in the area from sport hernia surgery he underwent in the past.

"It [was] just kind of a pain -- pain I had throughout the day," he said. "When I was running to first base, once I got there it just kinda felt tight. I've had the four hernia surgeries basically, so it's just probably some tightness and scar tissue that's irritating me."

McNeil further explained that him leaving the game was simply precautionary, and the team shouldn't be missing him.

"It's usually a day or so. Just day-to-day," he said. "It's nothing I'm worried about, just very precautionary to make sure something bigger didn't happen."

McNeil was talking to the trainer and manager Mickey Callaway in the dugout during the top of the third inning, soon after being erased at second base on a force out (where he slid into the base) after singling earlier in the inning.

Juan Lagares took McNeil's spot in the lineup when the call was made to end his afternoon.
