Now Commenting On:

Jenrry Mejia felt no issue with his arm after pitching back-to-back days in relief, and said he's ready to pitch again, Terry Collins told reporters Friday.

Mejia expressed concern about moving from the rotation to the bullpen given past arm injuries, ranging from Tommy John surgery in 2011 to shoulder stiffness and bone spurs in his elbow.

“I think he is relieved,” Collins said. “I think he’s happy he feels the way he does."

Mejia has not allowed a run in five relief appearances this season, during which he is 2-for-2 in save opportunities.

"This is my new home," Mejia said about pitching in relief (Star-Ledger, May 24).
