Now Commenting On:

Jenrry Mejia has not appeared in a game since Monday due to forearm tendinitis, according to Mike Puma of the New York Post.

Mejia doesn't know when his next Grapefruit League appearance will be.

Last week, Mejia returned to New York after his physical revealed a thyroid problem, although he was later cleared to resume baseball activities. He was also late to camp due to visa issues.

Mejia has allowed four earned runs in two innings over two appearances so far this spring.

It always seems like it's one step forward, and two steps backward for Mejia; he just can't seem to get himself on track. He has made only two appearance so far this spring, so I can't imagine he is really in consideration for a bullpen spot right now. Ultimately, I expected Mejia to go to the minors and work as a starter anyway. He is working on a cutter right now, but he needs to develop consistent command of three pitches if he is going to be successful in the big leagues, no matter what role he settles into.
