Jenrry Mejia, who was forced to leave his last start due to bone spurs in his elbow, will have surgery to remove them in the next seven to ten days.

Mejia had said since joining the Mets in July that he was going to need offseason surgery no matter what.

In five starts with the Mets, Mejia posted a 2.30 ERA, 1.171 WHIP and struck out 27 while walking only four batters.

Terry Collins said that he expects Mejia to be ready to pitch in winter ball.
