B-Mets pitching coach Marc Valdes said Familia was going to be skipped this time through the pitching rotation. Valdes said Familia is not hurt, but the team wanted to let Familia rest. This is the second time over the past month that Familia will be getting "rest".
Now what can we make out of this? Does he legitimately need rest? Is the organization being cautious with his innings total? Is the organization hiding a deeper issue? Should we be concerned with Familia's durability as a starter?
These are all valid questions that remained unanswered. The only thing that has been revealed is that Familia needs "rest".
In other B-Mets news, Matt Harvey will make his next start on Monday in Portland.
