Justin Turner performed some light outfield drills during workouts this morning.

Afterwards, Turner told me Terry Collins wants him to work in the outfield twice per week during camp.

"It's fine - whatever it takes to get more at-bats," Turner said.

Turner has not played a game in the outfield in his Major League career.

However, Turner played eight games in the outfield while with the Reds organization in 2006.

The Mets need all the options they can get After losing out on Bourn, the Mets have nothing to lose by looking at Turner, even in a part-time or platoon role. Over the last few years, he has shown he can adapt to the other infield positions, and so it's worth a look...
