Now Commenting On:

Milwaukee Brewers closer and former Mets reliever Francisco Rodriguez did not rule out a possible return to his old team, since they tried to sign him two off seasons in a row, he told reporter Marc Carig on Wednesday (Newsday, June 12).

The Mets offered Rodriguez a big-league contract this past winter, according to Carig. Instead, he accepted Milwaukee's one-year, $3.25 million offer to return to the Brewers.

"I always keep my mind open," Rodriguez told Carig. "I do really want to have the opportunity once again to come back here."

Rodriguez has 19 saves and a 2.08 ERA in 30 appearances with the Brewers this season.

In 2010, he was arrested for punching his girlfriend's father, while in the player's lounge, following a game in Citi Field.
