Kevin Plawecki was hitting .291/.388/.386 in 55 games for St. Lucie after hitting .314/.390/.494 in 65 games for the Sand Gnats to start the year at age 22. In the FSL, he had drawn 19 walks (8.6%) and fanned just 20 times (9.1%) in his 220 plate appearances. Plawecki was my #11 prospect preseason, and was in line for a move into the Top 10 this year. A scout who had seen him in both the FSL and SAL recently told me that his throwing, the weakest part of his game, now looked better too.
