This week in Mets Land was the week of babies. Jay Bruce and his wife, Hannah, welcomed a son named Maxwell -- their second child. But that's not all. David Wright and his wife, Molly, welcomed their second child -- a baby girl named Madison.
In terms of on the field action... eh. There were two wins, a rainout, and three losses. One important and reassuring factor is that Michael Conforto has broken out of his slump, helping the Mets win in Monday night's game when he returned from his mental health break, and hitting a go-ahead homer in the ninth inning of Friday night's game.
Speaking of Friday night's game, it was a come from behind win, like the ones we saw in the month of April. And that was reassuring to both the fans and the team -- that the Mets still do have it in them; that they can rally and win. We even saw the Mets try to do this in Sunday afternoon's game, but it unfortunately didn't happen.
Meanwhile, the Mets' return on investment for Matt Harvey -- Devin Mesoraco -- casually homered for his first hit with his new team. Aside from that, he's studying film of the Mets' pitchers. The guy seems to be dedicated, and wanting to learn as much as he can.
One thing I am a bit upset about is that I wanted to see more Dominic Smith over the weekend. Smith was called up for the three game series while Bruce was on paternity leave, and we saw him for two at-bats, and no defense. In his first appearance, he didn't even get a full at-bat, as Jose Reyes was picked off first base, ending the inning. Then Sunday, he struck out. Meh.
I could also talk about Harvey's debut for the Reds, but I doubt you want to hear more about that, right? I mean, we all knew he was going to be fantastic in his first outing for another team, so it should not have come as a shock to any of us.
Oh, and Luis Guillorme is here! And he had his first hit at as a Met on Mother's Day.
Speaking of Guillorme, here is my nice little segue into the fact that the 51s launched fireworks this past week during the game, specifically in the middle of an at-bat.

Todd Frazier had a message for Phillies fans Friday night.
He had a lot of fun with it.
Todd Frazier said he had some fun back-and-forth interactions with fans last night: "I felt like I was in high school again. I was being the best cheerleader I could be yesterday. Talk all you want, but you're gonna have to take it once I give it back to you."- Tim Britton (@TimBritton) May 12, 2018
Harvey chatted with the media on Thursday, and #MetsTwitter had a field day with the pictures from it, as we haven't seen Harvey look that happy in a long time.

Oh! And let's not forget about how the Mets batted out of order during Wednesday's game. This naturally then led the Reds to troll the Mets.
Can someone send this down to the third base dugout? https://t.co/htjvJss5k1- Cincinnati Reds (@Reds) May 9, 2018
Pedro Martinez had some thoughts about pitchers these days, and I can't help but agree with him.
In my days to only pitch 5 innings was a disgrace, something shameful for a pitcher. Today, pitching is a totally different ballgame- Pedro Martinez (@45PedroMartinez) May 9, 2018
And Tracie Conforto is one proud mother, as she should be.
Lastly, our thoughts are with Ron Darling's father. We're all hoping for the best!
