The Red Sox are trying to gauge Ryan Dempster's market, who is seeking a three-year deal (WEEI).
The Sox and Angels are also interested in Kyle Lohse (CBS Sports).
Former Met Scott Kazmir is throwing 90-94 mph in Puerto Rico, and is drawing interest from Major League clubs (CBS Sports).
Only one of these teams can sign Greinke, who seems to be the first domino which needs to fall before the trade market opens up for pitching. The Angels appear to be focused on contingencies, whereas the Dodgers are mostly mum on alternatives (with the exception of their reported interest in R.A. Dickey from last night). Right now, Anibal Sanchez is reportedly searching for a very large contract, and so these teams could be a little weary of investing in him at those levels. That tells me the Red Sox, Rangers, Royals and Angels could all be in the market for starting pitching, assuming Greinke signs with the Dodgers. That could lead to a strong market for guys like Dickey, Jon Niese, and the Rays James Shields and Jeremy Hellickson.
