Is Tulowitzki available?
Are the Mets interested?
They were this past summer (Martino, Nov. 6), though they may have less interest now knowing Tulowitzki would prefer to be on the Yankees (Heyman, Nov. 8). He would also be interested in playing for the Dodgers or Giants (Heyman, Nov. 8).
What will he cost in trade?
The Rockies are looking for at least one top pitching prospect, and they expect the acquiring team to take on all of his remaining $114 million the next six seasons (FOX Sports, Nov. 5).
"The Rockies aren't trading him for 70 cents on the dollar," said one person familiar with their thinking (Heyman, Nov. 8).
Do the Rockies match up with the Mets?
In early July, the Mets reached reached out to the Rockies about Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonalez; the Rockies scouted Sandy Alderson’s top prospects, including Noah Syndergaard (NY Post, July 27); but the two sides never talked again, sources said (Martino, Aug. 7).
Tulowitzki, 29, has missed nearly half his games the last three season and had his 2014 season cut short due to hip surgery.
