The Mets have the sixth-best farm system in baseball, according to a recent list published by's Keith Law.

"The turnaround in this system is remarkable, especially when you consider they have not had a top-10 pick since they took Matt Harvey in 2010, and it puts the Mets in excellent shape relative to the other four teams in their division," says Law.

Law praised the decision to trade R.A. Dickey, Marlon Byrd and John Buck for prospects and the stockpiling of young arms, which he described as "one of the minor's best collections."

This is noteworthy, because the organization usually lingers in the middle of the pack. I have heard repeatedly this winter from people in baseball saying the Mets have one of the better groups of young pitching in all of baseball, but the lack of hitting weighs down the overall system. If that means dropping to sixth-best, I'll take it...
