Terry Collins said Tuesday that he is not planning to use Lucas Duda in the outfield, as a way to deal with recent injuries on the team.

Duda played left field Monday, after Curtis Granderson and Juan Lagares were removed from the game.

Instead, Eric Young Jr., Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Andrew Brown started for the Mets on Tuesday.

Granderson is expected back in the lineup by Friday, which is the same day Chris Young is eligible to be activated from the disabled list.

"We made the commitment to play him there," Collins said about Duda playing only first base (ESPN, Apr. 14). "I think putting him back in left field will take away a little bit of that positive glow that he's got going right now."
