The Marlins have agreed to trade OF Marcell Ozuna to the Cardinals, reports Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports, who says OF Christian Yelich is also on the trading block.
Ozuna, 27, hit .312/.376/.548 with 37 HR and 124 RBI in 159 games for the Marlins in 2017.
He is arbitration-eligible each of the next two seasons, after which he is eligible for free agency.
The Marlins, who are dramatically cutting payroll under their new ownership group which is led by Derek Jeter, traded OF and 2017 MVP Giancarlo Stanton to the Yankees over the weekend in exchange for Starlin Castro, minor leaguers Jorge Guzman and Jose Devers, and cash considerations.
The Yankees are absorbing $260 million of the remaining $295 million left on Stanton's contract.
Earlier this month, the Marlins traded 2B Dee Gordon to the Mariners, where he will be used as a center fielder.
