Two Mets were selected to play in the game: RHP Matt Harvey (U.S.) and 3B Jefry Marte (World).
Here are the Baseball America excerpts on Harvey and Marte:
Harvey: In an organization that can use good news, the Mets have to be pleased with how Harvey has pitched since they made him the seventh overall pick in 2010. He should take a fast path to New York.
Marte: After taking two years to get through low Class A, Marte has shown the offensive potential that got him signed in 2007. He's also starting to tap into his raw power.
Now the selection process is a difficult one due to the limit of two players max per organization.
The seletion of Marte is surprising, but with a solid first half of the season, it is good to see him get some recognition.
Harvey (A+ St. Lucie)- 8-2, 2.37 ERA. 76 IP, 67 hits, 24 bb, 92 k.
Marte (A+ St. Lucie)- .283/.357/.402, 13 2B, 1 3B, 5 HR, 32 rbi, 27 bb, 47 k, 9 SB.
