He passed another milestone earlier in the day, throwing from 120 feet for the first time. he will eventually move to 150 feet, then target the mound.
"This has been a long wait, and coming back obviously is all I can think about," Harvey told reporters. "I couldn't be happier with the way I feel. I'm excited to keep moving forward."
Harvey is expected to miss all of 2014, while rehabbing from last year's Tommy John surgery. He has said he hoped to pitch in a big-league game this season, but the Mets have been consistent in saying that is very unlikely.
