Now Commenting On:

Matt Harvey took the mound in the top of the first inning with a bloody nose.

Unfazed, he pitched a 1-2-3 inning with one strikeout.

He later explained to reporters that he frequently got bloody noses as a child, and he didn’t let it distract him during the game.

“I knew something was running, obviously, when I wiped my sleeve and saw it was red it was a telling sign, something else was coming out except for snot,” Harvey said laughing. “They shoved up as much stuff up there as they could."
