Previous Reports & Reaction
Matz was examined by doctors in New York on Monday. He will likely rejoin the rotation Friday at home against the Brewers, Terry Collins said May 17.
Matz does not have any structural damage to his elbow, he only had 'discomfort,' Sandy Alderson later confirmed. According to Alderson, the situation is "small," and, "not significant."
Matz said early last week that he's not concerned and is encouraged by how he's feeling, according to Marc Carig of Newsday.
He has posted a 2.86 ERA and 1.18 WHIP while striking out 33 in 34 2/3 innings (six starts) this season.
