They'll be opposed by Masahiro Tanaka, Michael Pineda, and CC Sabathia for the Yankees.
"We did not set our rotation up specifically to anything special for the Yankees," he explained. "We know it’s a big series, we’ve still got to look to that last weekend and make sure our guys are lined up for that series," he added, referring to the final three games of the regular season against the Nationals at Citi Field.
That said, Collins said it's important for the Mets to try to get the pitching staff rest, in advance of what he hopes will be a long playoff run through October.
"We’ll probably still pitch them, I just don’t think the workload in those games will be quite as great," he explained. "Some of the things we’re trying to do is so that our guys can give us length come playoff time if we get in."
