The 2020 MLB Draft was one of the most unique in the history of the sport.

With just five rounds and only 160 total selections, teams had to make their picks count, as the potential of a player not signing could end up being disastrous in such a shortened draft class.

But by most accounts, the Mets made the most of their five selections, particularly with their first three picks: Pete Crow-Armstrong, J.T. Ginn, and Isaiah Greene. If the Mets can sign all three players, they may have just landed three of the best overall prospects in the draft.

But that's just this writer's opinion. How are others feeling about what the Mets did in the 2020 draft? Here's a roundup of some grades given out for the Mets' draft haul …

CBS Sports: A

The Mets draft boils down to signing three players: outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong (a defensive dynamo and potential leadoff hitter); right-hander J.T. Ginn (a possible top-10 pick before he blew out his elbow this spring); and outfielder Isaiah Greene (another centerfielder with power potential). Each has the chance to provide the Mets with a ridiculous return on investment relative to where they were selected. Say what you will about the other aspects of Brodie Van Wagenen's bold approach to running a team, but it makes for exciting draft classes.

Crow-Armstrong has been said to have perhaps the only chance in the entire draft class to be a future Gold Glove winner ...

The Mets definitely have a long-term CF need here, and this pick seems to address that directly, though it will require some time before he hits the majors... especially if he can't hit enough.

Ginn is said to be (perhaps) a tougher signing opportunity for New York, as he can return to school next year. Whether the Mets choose to push the issue or simply punt the pick to 2021 remains to be seen. More on that in a sec.

He's got a 99 mph fastball and excellent slider, but he also blew out his elbow early this year. The trick will be whether he thinks 2nd round money is enough or whether he bets on himself to recover and have a useful 2021 season - which probably won't be a full season - after rehabbing. Might be a decent strategy by the Mets either way it goes, but the expectation is that he does get signed.
