Mets second baseman Robinson Cano was scheduled to play Tuesday for the Oriental Stars, known as the Estrellas Orientales, in the Domincan Winter League, according to sports reporter Hector Gomez.
Cano was to bat third and start at second base behind manager Fernando Tatis, while being accompanied by Twins third baseman Miguel Sano, who was starting at the hot corner and batting cleanup for the Estrellas Orientales.
However, the Mets said that Cano did not play.
The Estrellas were set to face the Toros at 8:30 p.m. ET.
