Mets 3B Todd Frazier (hamstring strain) went 1-for-3 with an RBI and played six innings at third base Thursday night as he began a rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas.
Frazier, who has been on the disabled list since May 8, took batting practice last week for the first time since suffering his injury, before progressing to running.
The 32-year-old Frazier had played through the hamstring injury for several weeks before he was placed on the DL. He was hitting .313 on April 16, but was hitting .167/.192/.292 in six games in May.
Frazier is hitting .237/.357/.412 with five HR, five doubles, and 21 RBI in 32 games for the Mets this season.
