The Mets have acquired Kelly Johnson from the Braves for Triple-A pitcher Akeel Morris.
Johnson, 34, is hitting .215 with a .273 OBP and .289 SLG in 132 plate appearances for the Braves this season, while playing first base, second base and left field.
Johnson will join the Mets on Friday in Milwaukee, Assistant GM John Ricco said.
Last season, the Mets and Braves connected on a deal that Johnson and Juan Uribe to the Mets for minor leaguers Rob Whalen and John Gant.
In 138 plate appearances after last season's trade, Johnson hit .250 with a .304 OBP
Morris, 23, is 14-15 with a 2.91 ERA and 405 strike outs in 303 minor league innings since 2010. He is currently in his first season above Single-A, though he spent one game with the Mets on their big-league roster in 2015.
According to MLB.com, Morris ranks as the oranization's fourth-best pitching prospect and 16th-best prospect overall.
