The Mets have acquired RHP Eric Hanhold from the Milwaukee Brewers as the player to be named later to complete the Aug. 12 trade that sent INF Neil Walker to Milwaukee.
Hanhold, 23, had a 3.94 ERA and 1.43 WHIP with 60 strikeouts and 21 walks in 64.0 innings (three starts, 17 relief appearances) this season for High-A Carolina.
He was the Brewers' sixth-round pick in the 2015 MLB Draft.
"Sitting in the 92-94 mph range out of the bullpen and bumping 95, Hanhold works from a high arm slot, pounding the ball downhill with late and heavy life," perfectgame.org wrote in their scouting report on Hanhold shortly before he was drafted. "With his fastball running to his arm side, Hanhold features a slider that moves in the opposite direction, showing late 10-to-4 tilt."
Hanhold has a 5.01 ERA and 1.51 WHIP with 147 strikeouts in 201 1/3 innings in three minors league seasons across three levels.
